Growing Support Crazy Plants For Crazy Critters

We propagate cactus and succulents through leaf cuttings, separation, seeds, and stem cultivation.

We have been able to build many parent plants over the last year thanks to a donation from supporters. At the moment we are transitioning the greenhouse we used for cultivation into a South American themed habitat. We will soon be taking all the commercial activity out of this house and put it into the larger greenhouse on the property.

We are so excited to have an entire greenhouse dedicated to tropical species of animals which will help them live naturalistic lives and possible propagate due to the secure environment. We will; use all plants that grow in that area for the turtles, tortoises, lizards, amphibians, and even birds that will live freely in this man-made world we create here at @Crazy Critters Inc.

In the meantime, plants need to be created to sell as well as used in the husbandry of all the animals. In this video, we are taking some Devils backbone and other plants through separation and plunging them into buckets of soil.

Also. we take leaf cuttings from Kalanchoe and Echeveria and make leaf trays. Many of these leaves I have been laying on plain Mica for the last couple of weeks/ Many of these leaves have already rooted.

I also take leggy succulents and use them to create rosettes.

f you have a succulent that is starting to look leggy, now is the time to propagate. What’s a leggy succulent, you ask? Sadly, it’s not a plant that looks like Heidi Klum. It happens when a succulent isn’t getting enough light and starts to stretch out, with a woody stem and widely spaced leaves.

Remove the lower leaves. Chop the remaining rosette from the stem. Let all the parts dry out and create a callous after they’ve been removed, Place on top of the soil until roots and baby plants start forming

We Grow Crazy Plants So We Can Care For Crazy Critters!

You can find us at 22919 County Road 44A, Eustis. It is not uncommon for normal GPS to bring people a lil down the road. Make sure you type the A on the 44.

We are located DIRECTLY across from Lake Seneca Rd. At a brown house with a brown barn and asphalt driveway.

Do not go straight on the dirt easement because it is private property.

We are cash only because we receive a discount from vendors such as the feed store. Discounts equal more money raised. Happens to be that we need things more often than one may think!
